How do I inform CAO of my exemptions from Minimum Entry Requirements (granted in current or a prior year)?

Exemption granted this year

NUI exemption: CAO expect to receive notification of exemptions directly from NUI beginning in February. If your exemption is still not appearing on your online application by the end of February or more than one month after it was granted, please contact NUI at exemptions@nui.ie.

TCD exemption/waiver: CAO expect to receive electronic notification of TCD exemptions/waivers directly from TCD. When CAO are notified of an exemption/waiver, the applicant's account will be updated, and the exemption/waiver will appear under the Qualification and Assessment section of your application. If your exemption/waiver is still not appearing on your online application by the end of June, please contact the Admissions Office at TCD for guidance.

University of Limerick exemption: CAO expect to receive electronic notification of UL language exemptions directly from UL. When CAO are notified of an exemption, the applicant's account will be updated, and the exemption will appear under the Qualification and Assessment section of your application. If your exemption is still not appearing on your online application by the end of June, please contact the Admissions Office at UL for guidance.

Mary Immaculate College exemption: CAO do not record exemptions that have been granted by Mary Immaculate College. These exemptions will not appear on your CAO application

Exemption granted in a prior year

CAO cannot accept evidence of a prior year exemption granted to you in the form of a letter uploaded to your application or posted to CAO. We must be notified of your exemption directly by the HEI (or NUI in the case of an NUI institution) that granted it.

NUI exemption from a prior year: You must contact NUI directly (exemptions@nui.ie) to advise them that you are re-applying to CAO. They will need your new CAO application number.

TCD exemption/waiver from a prior year: You must contact TCD directly to advise them that you are re-applying to CAO and require further evidence of your exemption.

University of Limerick exemption from a prior year: You must contact UL directly to advise them that you are re-applying to CAO. They will need your new CAO application number.

Mary Immaculate College exemption from a prior year: CAO do not record exemptions that have been granted by Mary Immaculate College. These exemptions will not appear on your CAO application. You should contact these HEIs directly for guidance.
